Banking just got personal!

Per recent news Lloyds bank are running a trial to make online banking more secure. To do this they are using the windows biometric system. This is the system that makes windows hello work on windows 10 devices, this will have a trial run in the second half of the year following on from HSBC’s innovation allowing voice passwords and using touch ID on apple devices when using the banking app. The following changes are not only happening to Lloyds bank but to Halifax and the bank of Scotland, this will use the computers inferred camera to scan your face/Eyes to log you in to the online banking site, they are also introducing a fingerprint system that will work like the windows Hello system, your password will be a fall-back option in case these two options should fail.
 So, to take advantage of the new system you will need a few things;
·         An inferred camera – this is used to detect your face in a range of lighting conditions
·         A windows 10 system with all the latest updates
·         Windows hello will need to be setup and configured
Some systems do not come compatible for windows Hello as they do not come with an inferred camera or fingerprint scanner however these cameras can be purchased separately from online retailers or from high street shops such as PC world.

We want to know what you think of the trial, is it a good idea? Please leave us your comments below!
